Clinical Exercise is a specifically prescribed program that uses evidence-based exercise intervention as a ‘medicinal’ approach to effectively treat a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. Our program incorporates rehabilitation and Pilates-based exercises that teach awareness of optimal posture of the spine strengthening the core muscles. These exercises integrate whole body movement, postural alignment, coordination and mobility. Clinically prescribed exercise is an excellent way to improve the condition of the whole body. Exercises are performed on the floor, physio-ball, foam roller or Pilates reformer.
CLINICAL EXERCISE (Pilates)
What is Clinical Exercise?
What is the difference between Clinical Exercise and gym-based Pilates?
In gym-based Pilates, usually all participants are instructed to perform the same regime of exercises altogether without tailoring to the needs of each class member. Clinical Exercise is conducted by an experienced Physiotherapist and involves a tailored and individualised program based on specific needs and takes into account your previous injuries.
What will group sessions involve?
Our small group sessions of six people are supervised by a Physiotherapist and run for 50 minutes. As you improve, your program will be progressed to keep the sessions challenging and targeted towards your needs.
What are my payment options?
All Clinical Exercise sessions are claimable through your Private Health Insurance if you have Physio extras cover (you can check if your health fund covers the physio codes 360 or 361). Group session packages are available to pre-purchase.
What do I wear to Clinical Exercise?
Wear something that is comfortable and easy to move in, grip socks and bring along a towel.
How do I get started with Clinical Exercise?
Step 1: Book in for your Clinical Exercise Fundamentals sessions (40 minutes)
Step 2: Complete your first 40 minute one-on one Clinical Exercise session with your Physio
Step 3: Complete your second 40 minute one-on one Clinical Exercise session with your Physio
Step 4: Join into a group session!
